How does online dating work?
| Online dating has become an increasingly popular way for people to meet each other. Think of all the benefits to meeting someone online rather than in a bar- no crowds, no expensive drinks, and no pressure to get dressed up!
The typical online dating experience starts with browsing through profiles and photos of members to see who takes your fancy. Because new members are signing up every day, you'll find new profiles each time you log on. Once you've found someone you're interested in, you can contact them. This usually starts with the exchange of Smiles and Messages. After you've chatted and exchanged messages, you might swap phone numbers. This initial phone call can often feel like a mini first-date, complete with a case of the jitters. Of course there aren't many first dates where you can wear your pyjamas and get away with it! At this point you might decide it's time to meet offline. This can be done in a group setting through an organised event, or as a one-on-one date. What happens next depends on the two people involved. If all goes well you'll want to see each-other again and will continue dating in the 'real world.' Who knows - you might even end up as one of our Success Stories. |
