When Anna met German

We met on FindSomeone in August 2014. German messaged me first, just as I was losing hoping on the site (again) and about to close it down.
His message was light, well meaning and sincere. It was so cute that there was no way I wasn't going to reply. I found out that we both like talking (in this case, writing) and soon we had too much to say with too little time to write, so, we arranged to meet each other in person 2 days later.
It was a cold rainy evening and I was running late. I joked to him about making sure he had gotten me flowers earlier so I couldn't believe my eyes when he was standing outside our chosen restaurant under an umbrella with a bunch of roses.

Seven and a half months later we are engaged and are about to move into to our own place.

German messaged me first, he had gold membership while I had a standard one. His personality really shone through: I agreed to meet him based on one photo!

Did you have to kiss many frogs to find your prince/princess?
German: uh, yeah, a few. Anna: A LOT of frogs, unfortunately. I gave up a few times before I met him.

Were you nervous about online dating at the start?
German: uh, no, because I'm good at writing and it's not awkward for me to meet new people. Anna: I was hesitant to meet people in person but was comfortable exchanging messages with them online.
